The short answer
Often, yes, and three measurements of your car decide it, not its size class. Folded, the power wheelchairs and scooter we sell are between 29.5 and 35 inches long. The heaviest single lift, with the battery out, runs from 33 lb (AEROLUX 2C) to 60 lb (CITY 2 PLUS). Measure your trunk as shown below and compare it with the folded sizes.
How to measure your trunk
- A: opening width. Across the trunk opening at its narrowest point. On most sedans that is between the tail lights, not the widest part inside.
- B: opening height. From the trunk lip, where things slide in, straight up to the top edge of the opening.
- C: floor depth. From the lip to the back of the rear seats, along the floor.
Measure the same way on an SUV, hatchback or minivan. If you'll fold the rear seats down, measure the depth with them folded. Wheel wells and a raised floor can take away an inch or two, so measure at the tightest point.
Folded sizes
| Model | Folded (L × W × H) | Heaviest lift |
|---|---|---|
| AEROLUX 2C | 31.5 × 12 × 29.5 in | 33 lb (36 with battery) |
| DASH 2 Lite | 30 × 24 × 13.5 in | 39 lb (43 with battery) |
| GT | 29.5 × 23.6 × 13.8 in | 49 lb (53 with battery) |
| CITY 2 PLUS | 32 × 23 × 13 in | 60 lb (65 with battery); comes apart in 3 pieces |
| HELIX scooter | 35 × 24 × 13.7 in | 55 lb (59 with battery) |
| byACRE Carbon Ultralight | 29.9 × 9.8 × 31.5 in | 10.6 lb |
Lifting it in
Size is half the question. The other half is who does the lifting, and how often. On every Travel Buggy chair above, the battery comes out, so the heaviest lift is the frame on its own. The CITY 2 PLUS also separates into three pieces, so it can go in as more than one lift. If lifting is the worry, the AEROLUX 2C is the lightest of the five at 33 lb.
Not sure, or your model isn't in the table? Call 289-401-7778 with your car's make, model and year, Monday to Friday 9:30 to 5. For power chairs and scooters we also offer a free in-home demo across the GTA.
Folded sizes and weights are the manufacturers' published specs: Travel Buggy's model comparison and DASH Ultra-Lite manual, and byACRE's product specifications, checked September 2026. Handles, wheels and the angle of the lift can change the real fit by an inch or two.
